The Position
As our first full time hire on the manufacturing operations team, you will be an integral part of bringing Norbert’s first product to market. You will report to the Head of Hardware and Supply Chain. As part of a lean team, you will have an opportunity to work alongside joint development teams to support pre production activities such as creating and managing in house manufacturing processes with the intent to transition these processes to a manufacturing line at a contract manufacturer (CM).
This is an exciting opportunity to lay the groundwork alongside an experienced team in a fast paced, start up environment.
What you will do
- Contribute to design verification, validation and xFMEAs
- Support pilot activities with joint design teams, to manufacture and assemble prototype and clinical units, prior to production release
- Provide technical assistance to both in house and CM production lines
- Develop and manage document control practices including change management, BOM and management of controlled documents within a PLM tool
- Develop and implement operation sequence for testing and assembly processes in the manufacture of sub assemblies and final assemblies
- Identify and design test fixtures and equipment with defined specifications and procedures
What we are looking for
- B.S. in mechanical engineering or similar, with 5+ years of experience in product manufacturing
- Have worked with teams to bring at least 2x hardware products through DVT manufacturing stage, with at least 1x product in an FDA/cGMP regulated and ISO 13485 compliant environment
- Experience creating and editing 3D models and 2D drawings in mechanical CAD software
- Experience with DFM, complex assembly and test process definition
- Experience with COGs reduction
- Experience working in a startup environment a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
